A mechanistic understanding of the evolution of antibiotic resistance

I am a PhD candidate at the University of Groningen, working on the project entitled “Evolvability in the context of antibiotic resistance”. In this project, I combine replicated evolutionary experiments with bacteria and computer simulations to obtain insights into the scope and limitations of bacterial evolvability. The fundamental understanding obtained will subsequently be used to address practical questions in the context of antibiotic resistance. In addition to experimental evolution, invertebrate palaeontology is a fervent passion of mine.
